Hemi missed the kick, i'apakura then commenced a determined rush and Burgess scored in a handy position. .Melnnes missed the kick. Manukau opened up and Broughton with a brilliant run tscored. Heuu wade 110 mistake with the kick. After a bunched attack, Brodrlck passed' to Chase who scored, Hemi adding the extras. After a tine dash Hemi passed to Brifflble, who returned the pass to him. Hemi ewept across and converted the try. The halt-time score was: Manukau ................. Iβ l'apakura .................. a In the second spell, Papakura rallied and kept Manukau ou the defensive. At this stage rain began to fall heavily, and the ground became very slippery. Papakura. pressed and following a ecrum, Crocker dived over. The kick missed. With about eight minutes to go Wilson scored in the corner lor Manukau and Hemi converted. Just before the final whistle a brilliant piece of work culminated in McGulre scoring.
