The "Roarers" Mug contest, best two out of three contests, handicap match play over 36 boles, was played at Pupuke over the week-end. North Shore, the holders, were defeated by 4 matches to 1.

Ryder, 5 and 4; T. Mackelvie and W. Shaw beat I. Howden and F. Pearcey, 4 and 2; W. Chambers and Bond lost to M. Grant and R. Durham. 4 and 3.
