MORNINGSIDE FUNCTION.
The Morningside Hall wa« gaily decorated with flags, streamers in the National colours, red, white and blue, with masses of spring flowers on the ■mall tables for the function held on Thursday arranged by the women's committee of the Morningside area of the Eden electorate. After being introduced by the chairman, Mrs. A. M. Wileon, Mre. J. W. Kealy gave an interesting talk on politics. A competition organised by Mrs. Carr was followed by the serving of afternoon tea. 'Miss Wyn Wileon gave two dances in costume and Mrs. R. E. P. Matthews two elocutionary items. Mr. and Mrs. D. Pool were present to be introduced to the ladies. After a' brief speech by Mr. D. Pool, the selected candidate for Eden, Mrs. A. M. Wileon thanked all present for helping towards this successful social afternoon. The ladies responsible were: Mesdames A. M. Wileon,* J. B. Young, T. W. Brough, N. M. Carr, V. Gibbon, John Wilson, R. P. Beecroft, G. Laycock, A. Taylor, Moloney, W. S. R. Miller, A. Williamson, Misses S. Finch. M. Inwood, t>. Gibbon.
