RECEPTION TO MR. COATES.
Junior National League Holds Function.
Red, white and blue ribbons and clusters of balloons in these three shades decorated the Catholic Women's League rooms on Saturday night, when the Junior National League of the Auckland branch of the National party held a reception in honour of the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and Mrs. Coatee. An enthusiastic welcome was given by all the members present to Mr. and Mrs. Coates.
The guests were received by the president of the Junior National League, Mr. Ronald Corson. He was assisted" by Mrs. Coreon, who was wearing a frock of etriped moire silk in clover, daffodil and green shades. Mrs. Coatee was wearing a frock of navy blue Chantilly lace relieved with a wietaria satin eash. Miss Sheila Coatee, who accompanied her parents, wore petunia and blue diagonally striped eilk. A brief welcome was extended to the guests of honour by Mr. Ronald Corson. Mr. Coates, in replying, emphasised the need for exerting every effort to ensure that the British heritage of individual freedom should never be denied to the younger generation of New Zealand. Committee members present included Mrs. Cecil George, who wae wearing a frock of ivory Ottoman silk; Mrs. Harold Coster, who was in a frock of flame chiffon; Mrs. J. N. Edeon, in petunia tucked chiffon; Mre. W. Clark, ivory coloured satin; Mrs. G. K. Brown ivory eatin; Mies Cecily Tattley, emerald green moire; Mise M. M.
