PUPILS , DAY TO-DAY.

GIRLS' GRAMMAR SCHOOL 60th ANNIVERSARY EVENTS. To-day wae present pupils' day in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary, of the founding of the Auckland Gteti*' Grammar School. The girls began their programme by attending a moving picture entertainment in the morning. The highlight of the day's events was the official opening this afternoon of the new jubilee library, which has been built into the echool above the assembly hall. Substantially it is a gift from friends of the school, and it will be the new home for the 3000 or more volumes which the school at present possesses. The opening ceremony wa* carried out by the first headmistress of the. school, Miee A. W. Whitelaw. The chairman of the Grammar School Board, Dr. E. Roberton, was among those who also took part. Afternoon tea followed, and then the girl* gave a display of drill and folk dancing on the basketball ground.
