CYCLIST INJURED.

FOWL CAUGHT IN WHEEL.

A fowl darting across the road was the cause of an accident to a cyclist last evening. Mr. Salvatorc Amoretti, tged 48, married, of 13, Renfrew Avenue. Mount Albert, was returning home from work when he struck the bird and was thrown heavily to the roadway. He was found lying unconscious and was taken to the Auckland hospital in a St. John ambulance. The bird, which had become caught in the wheel of the cycle, was killed instantly. Mr. Amoretti did not recover consciousness until this morning, but his condition to-day was not serious.
