At the usual weekly sale of Ceylon tea held at Colombo on August 31, the quan--9 rinn rlv? »nder offer amounted to 2 000,000 pounds weight. Quality generally showed a falling off. There was a good general demand, and all grades were listed at advanced rates with the exception of fanest types which showed slight declines owing to inferior quality. Actual price alterations showed an increase of /ad per pound on Commons. Price Broken Orange Pekoes, and Plain Broken Orange Pekoes advanced V<d to %d per pound, j l- Fine Broken Orange Pekoes declined to the level of quotations ruliiv a fortnight" ago. There will not be n sale next week on account of the ten traders' holiday.
