FOUR TROTTERS.

BOUGHT IN AMERICA. N.Z. SPORTSMAN RETURNS. Bringing with him news of four trotters bought in America, Mr. .T. R. McKenzie. governing director of Messrs. •T. R. McKenzie. Limited, returned with his wife by the Monterey this morninar. They have been on a three months' holiday in America, where they motored over 5000 miles and attended many trotting meetings. Among the meetings they attended was one that would have been a novelty for most New Zealanders. It was racing at night. Then at Goshen, they saw the famous horse-Greyhound in action. Greyhound is the champion of America. Mr. McKenzie's four purchases will be arriving in New Zealand soon. In all the miles they motored, they said that only 80 were metalled. They went to the Colorado Springs, and there is a motor road to the summit of Pine Peak, 10,100 ft high. The view from there was superb. Among other wellknown tourist resorts they visited was the world-famous Boulder Dam, which was being extended still further. Mrs. McKenzie said that they were lowered from the • top of the dam right below the level of the water on the other side. It was rather a terrifying experience.
