The worst typhoon since 1905 devastated eastern Japan at dawn, plunging Tokyo, Yokohama and other towns in darkness through the breakage of electric cables. The typhoon rooted up trees, which blocked streets, unroofed buildings, submerged wharves, and levelled crops. A landslide at Chuto railway station in Korea killed Gβ sleeping workmen.
