NAVY PLAYERS.

"SEAGOING" DEFINED SOCCER CLUB'S APPEAL TEAM TO VISIT ROTORUA. What constitutes a sea-going Soccer player? This question arose at last night's meeting of the control board of the Auckland jiootball Association against a recent decision of the board to uphold a protest made by the Grey Lynn Club that Shore had utilised the services of players from H.M.S. Kndeavour. A previous ruling by the board had defined players from H.M.S. Endeavour as sea-going players, which made them ineligible for club' football. A representative from H.M.S. Kndeavour attended the meeting a iul explained that the ship would be in port for about five months. After hearing the explanation the board agreed to lift the restriction on these players. It was decided to refer Xorth Shore's appeal to the senior division for further consideration. An allegation by Xorth Shore that Grey Lynn had used the services of a Navy player is also to be investigated. A report on the visit of a junior team to Rotorua was made by Mr. C. G. Ballant.yne. He stated that'Rotorua desired a visit from a senior team. It was decided to endeavour to send a third senior division team to Rotorua on a date to be arranged, the selection of the team to be left in the hands of Mr. A. Tremain and the sole selector, Mr. A. P. Xeesham. No Transfers After September 7. Appreciation was expressed by the board on the success of the recent primary schools' tournament, which wae reported upon by Mr. J. Honoeks. It was decided that no transfers would be granted after September 7. A transfer from Suburbs to Ponsonby was gTanted to L. J. Shoebridge. M.. E. Hollis, of Wellington, advised acceptance of the "osition of Auckland delegate to the Xew Zealand Council. Mr. Munro stated that he would be in Wellington over the week-end and would disc-use with the Wellington Association the possibility of arranging a match for j the Frank Campbell Rose Bowl. The -chairman also reported on a very cordial meeting that had been held with the Referees' Association, in which many matters of benefit to the game had been discussed. I It was reported by Mr. F. H. Baker that he had received many applications to play in the forthcoming "Stars of Yesterday" match at Blandford Park. Among the players who would take part were Reg. Boyne (1910-1914 Auckland representative, who later played for Aston Villa), Jack Batty. Bert Woolley, Ted Carter and many other well-known Soccer stars. There would be a good muster of ex-Xew Zealand internationals and ex-Auckland representatives.
