FAT CATTLE EASIER. VALUES AT HASTINGS SALE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Wednesday. There were more buyers occupying the benches at Stortford Lodge than for some considerable time. Values for fat cattle .were easier this week, to a heavier yarding. Competition for "quality lines was vejy animated. The top line of extra .prime ' quality Angus-Shorfhorn cows realised £12 2/6. Ox beef pennings were light,- and values were on a par with late rates. A single solidly-finished prime Hereford realised £17 10/. Other prices ranged from £12 14/ up to £15 10/. Heifer beef values remained at par, tops realising £10 18/. A moderate yarding of mixed quality store sheep met a quiet market. Ewes and lamb*, all counted, running to 15/1. Hoggete were elightly easier in value, except for an entry of well-woolled ewe hoggete, •which made 31/.. Other lines ranged from 11/4 to 22/. A heavy yarding of fat sheep met a hardening market. Some good quality lines were offered, and late rates maintained. Good heavy ewee brought up to 25/6, wethers making 28/. The firet shorp ewes of the season wers on offer, and these ewes in prime condition cold well from 14/ to 14/6.
