ONE STAYS A WEEK. DIVORCE COURT STORY. SYDNEY, August 26. A etory of a marriage that lasted one week only was told to Mr. Justice Boyce in the Divorce Court. The next morning she developed pleurisy, and asked her husband to get a doctor. 6 ''He said he had not enough money and aeked me if I had any," Mrs Dowling added. ,rp," At . the end ef to ,B *eek he said, is no money; we'll have to get Mr. Justice Boyce: What did you say T * Mrs. Dowling: I said nothing. I didn't think he meant it, iH 1 ayed a cou P ,e o* days after he left. Then I walked out. I had threepence in my purse," said Mrs. Dowline Questioned by the judge, Mrs. Dowling admitted that she had divorced a. former husband for desertion. "When one see* art attractive young woman deserted .by two husbands, one wonders whether there ia not some reason," the judge said. He trusted that the lady would hesitate long before she married again. If'she did, she should see that her husband had a home tp/ take her to, and not a room without even a double bed in it, said Mr. Justice Boyce. Mrs. Dowling was granted a decree nisi.
