Oue of a series exchanged 'between Xcw Zealand museums under a Carnegie Corporation schemer designed to demonstrate' modern methatbs in display, an exhibit prepared at the Canterbury Museum is now on view at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. The loss of the power of flight in certain NewZealand birds is illustrated in the display. The wing of typical flying birds is contrasted with the flipper of penguine, the moderately large but useless wings of wekas and woodbens, and with ithe wing stump of the kiwis.
