HARP OF ERIN ESTATE.

IMPROVING AMENITIES. Development of the recreation reserve on the south side of Massey Avenue, Epsom, will probably be carried out in the near future. At a meeting of the One Tree Hill Borough Council last night, the town clerk, Mr. A. Lcese, reported that Government houses on the Harp of Erin estate were nearing completion, and that in a few months there would be a large influx of residents into a previously sparsely-populated locality. It was stated that 93 dwelling units were being constructed, while contracts for another 56 had been let. A further suggestion was that land between Massey Avenue and William Avenue be levelled and beautified. The Mayor, Mr. I. J. Goldstine, said the scheme well merited consideration, and when the area became more fully occupied further amenities would have to be provided. The council will inspect the property before any definite action is taken in the matter.
