GETTING READY.
GENERAL ELECTIONS. AUCKLAND PREPARATIONS. Auckland preparations for the general elections are itf full swing, and the selection of polling places in the various electorates has already been made. One of the tasks for the returning officers ie the distribution of polling booths, and where 'possible public halls or other suitable 'buildings will be used. The returning officers are now engaging polling staffs, and for each booth a deputy-return ing officer and two poll clerks' will be necessary. The preparations are on a very wide ecale, and arrangements have to Bβ made for all the material that win be necessary on election day, the erection of screens at booths, and the supplying of tables, c&aira and ballot boxes.
