The new secretary of the Auckland Hospital Board, Mr. C. L. Grange, commenced hie duties to-day. Mr. Grange comes with a fine record as a local body administrator. He was town clerk at 'Whangarei and Invercargill, and for the past five years was commissioner for the borough of
Thames, where hie work was attended with signal success. Since the retirement of Mr. H. A. Sommerville, the former secretary of the board, Mr. R. F. Galbraith has been acting secretary? and he will now take up the post of treasurer and assistant secretary.
