ALL FOR LABOUR.
OTAHUHU RAILWAYMEN.
NATIONAL PARTY ADDRESS.
References to superannuation and recent Government appointments to State services brought forth a storm of interruptions at the Otahuhu Railway Workshops at the lunch hour yesterday when the National party candidate for Otahuhu, Mr. K. B. Tennent, addressed a mass meeting of the men. Mr. J. B. Graham presided. At the conclusion of his address the candidate was asked a number of questions. The following resolution was then moved by Mr. Jacob Elliott, seconded by Mr. R. Macdonald and carried unanimously amid loud and prolonged cheering:—
"That this meeting of over 1000 railway employees accords a vote of thanks to the candidate for his address; but owing to the degradation, unemployment, misery and wage cutting initiated by the party he represents, the railwaymen of Otahuhu Workshops have no confidence whatsoever, either in Mr. Tennent or the National administration; and we pledge ourselves wholeheartedly to work for the return of the Labour Government ai forthcoming poll."
