CHRISTCHURCH, this day. In a r-ddock about two miles away from tli- one from which they had been removed, the 192 halfbred ewes which disappeared at Aylesbury have been discovered. The sheep, which were on the tarm of Pascoe brothers, disappeared some time on Monday night or Tuesday morning. Their removal caused considerable surprise, as they were heavy in lamb, and no sounds were heard It appeared that the flock had been taken out of the original paddock through the gate, marks showing it had been opened, the police stated," but it was not considered there had been any attempt to remove the sheep illegally. No further details had yet been ascertained.
The paddock was situated some distance back from the road, and about a quarter of a mile from the homestead. Detectives went out to make inquiries after the flock disappeared. The farm is about 22 miles from Christchurch, and ten from Darfield, where the nearest police:station is situated.
