PALESTINE CLASHES
British Troops Combing Out
Rebels.
SEVERAL SOLDIERS INJURED.
(Received 10 a.m.) JERUSALEM, August 19. Another clash has occurred at Nablus. British troops surprising some rebel leaders who were conferring in the village of Kafrharris. One British soldier was killed and five were wounded, while 14 rebels were shot dead. 'Planes assisted the troops. Two airmen were injured in a crash at Selpliit. Swift action lias been taken to prevent the spread of violence after last night's conflicts at Acre near Xablus. Troops are engaged in a rapid comb-out of the town, which was plunged into darkness when rebels broke the street lamps. Some 4000 villagers and headmen throughout Palestine have been detained in wire-fenced enclosures.
