HARD OF HEARING.

LOCAL BRANCH OF LEAOUE. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. An entirely satisfactory state of finances and a successful year's operation were reported when the Auckland branch of the New Zealand League for the Hard of Hearing held its annual meeting in the Myers . Kindergarten. There was a large attendance of members, student members and friends. The total membership of the league in the Dominion now totalled 300, it was reported. Branches had been established at Wellington and Christchurch, and arrangements were being made for the establishment of another branch at Napier.

Officers elected ■were: —President, Dr. Hardie.Neil (re-elected); vice-presidents, re-elected, with the addition of Messrs. A. Ely and W. E. Lewi sham; two new members for the board of governors, Dr. W. McDonald (representing Wellington branch) and Mr. J. Montgomery (representing Christchurch branch); hon. .organising secretary, .Miss. F. Plummer; hon. treasurer, Mr. J. N. Watkins; hon. solicitor, Mr. E. J. Prendergast, hon. auditor, Mr. S. Chambers; hon. acoustical engineer, Mr. T. R. Clarkson.

A social function followed the meeting. Addressee were given by Bishop Liston, representing the vice-presidents, and Rabbi Astor, who replied on behalf of the board of governors.
