TO-DAY 111 CHRISTCHURCH. A FALLING MARKET. LITTLE BUSINESS RECORDED. (Br Telegraph.—Special to "Star.**) CHRISTCHURCH, tliis day. Over 20 falls and only five rises resulted from the morning's list of quotations on Exchange. Sellers made concessions in almost all issues, but buying inquiry was very limited and three email sales comprised the total business recorded in the. room. The banks received less attention than for softie days, E.S. and A.'s easing to a market from £5 0/6 to £5 1/6. Commercials had "inquiry for ordinaries at the lower figure of 16/9, though, preferrede had steady 'buyers at £9 9/. The recent rise in Goldsbrough Morts faded away and sellers to-dajr were prepared to accept 28/6 compared with buying offers of over 29/ Meat Jiares were fully quoted, buyers offering 18/3 for Refrigerating (fully paid), 8/1 for contributings, 15/- for North Canterbury (iprers.} and 30/3 for Southland. A further easing in Coles brought holders down to 78/9, buyers 77/3. Sellers of Dunlops asked 22/ and of Broken ijjill Proprietary 59/1. United Provisions made one of the few better showings with a market between 7/7 and 8/7. Wool worths (N.Z.) lost 4d and Sydneys eased to sellers at 21/1 and buyers 20/10.
