PONiarar club. ANNUAL PRIZE NIGHT. The annual presentation of prizes won during the season bjr the boats of the Ponsonby Model Yacht Club wae held laet week in the Curran Street Hall, the commodore, Mr. E. G. Broun, presiding. Mr. Broun welcomed the visitor* from sister clubs and read an apology bom 81r Ernest Davis. TJie <past war bad been a good one and the race* keenly contested. The club bad competed at the combined race on the Manukau and was Terr successful 'in the harbour race, the flrat live to finish being club boats. Mr. Broon thanked the donors of trophies and especially the ladies' committee for their good work daring the .rear under the leadership of Mn». K. McWhlrter.
Mr. B. H. Wood,-president, congratulated the officers and members on the success of the past season and welcomed Mr, L Davle, who had purchased the crack threefooter Ship of Joy for his son. Mr. Davis thanked the club for its welcome and offered to donate a cup and six miniatures for a race, open to aU-comers, on the opening day next season and was awarded a vote of thanks. Mr. Woode concluded by requesting Mrs. R. McWhlrter to present the prizes. The principal winners were:—Opening day: Bhlp of Joy, Kanrt, Lark, Centanraa, Waitere and Mickey Mouse; aggregate cup, for three-footers, Ship of Joy, Mr. W. T. Matthews; four-footers, Ariel, Mr. IT. Backland, also general handicap. First series,. 3ft, Mickey Mouse; 4ft and nll-comero. Renown; second series. Bonny Jean, Flying Cloud. Ship of Joy; third series, On Dit, hart, Ariel; fourth series, Ship of Joy, Ariel, Cynthia; fifth series. Rhythm, Ship of Joy, Flying Cloud; sixth series, Cynthia, Maybe. Regatta day : 3ft, Centaurue: 4ft, Waiter*; all-comers, Mickey Mouse; Watchman Cup, MaKo, Tatnbridge; . I Point Erin Cup, for juniors. Master H. [ Matthews ; Tom Matthews' Memorial Cup, [Ariel; Mrs. R. IH. Woods' Memorial Cup Ariel. Juniors: Wee Pat, Peter Willetts; Gloria, W. Hillson; Scout, K. Hugbee. Supper was served by the ladies' committee, Mesdames R. McWhlrter, J. McWhirter, A. Edgar, J. Aldred and W. T. Matthews, after which dancing was continued till a late hour. During the evening Master Geoff cry Davis wae congratulated on becoming the owner of Ship of Joy and he eaid he hoped to be able to keep up her good record.
