Men's Singles.—W. Abbott beat 7. Swan, 15—6, B—ls,8 —15, 15—5. Women's singles: M. Kerr beat O. Erridge, 11—3, 11—5. Men's doubles: L. Swallow and J. Steven beat G. R. Dickinson and J. R. Ijildlaw, 15—11, 11—15. 10 —7. Women's doubles: Misses K. Angell and J. Emslte beat Misses M. Kerr and J. Hay, 19—10, It— lo. Mixed doubles: O. R. Dickinson and Miss M. Kerr beat W. Abbott and Mia* U Samson, 15— 13. 18—13.

In the finals of the men'e singles in the eastern tennis championship at Rye, R. L. Riggs beat J. Hunt (Los Angeles). 6—4, 6-3, a-«, 10-«. In the women's singles Miss Alice Marble beat Miss Dorothy Bundy, 7—5, In the men's doubles Budge and Mako beat Hunt and Wood, B—lo, 6—l, 5—7, 6—2, 6—4. Riggs ie a certainty for the Davis Cup team to meet the winner of the AustraliaGermany match.
THE NGATIRA CLUB.
The report - and balance-sheet of the Xgatira Lawn Tennis Club, presented at the annual meeting, disclosed a successful season. The president, Mr. R. G Armitage, congratulated the teams playing in the B. C and D grades on reaching the finals of the Auckland hard court championships, and the B grade team on winning the championship in its grade. Officers elected: Patron, Mr. T. McXab: president. Mr. R. G. Annitage; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. K. N. Buttle and A. McKenile; secretary and treasurer. Mr. P C. Spittal; captain, Mr. W.
