DIVORCE CASE CLAIM.
CO-RESPONDENT TO PAY.
Allegations of misconduct were Admitted by a wife in a divorce action brought by a husband before Mr. Justice ( allan and a jury in the Supreme Court to-day: The petitioner was Basil Quinton Gimblett, hairdresser, Newmarket (Mr. Spence), and the respondent Ada Ellen Gimblett (Mr. Matthews). Tom Sullivan, mill-hand, of Taumarunui (Mr. Duggan), was named as corespondent.
The petitioner was granted a decree nisi and £150 damages from the corespondent. the full amount claimed. He was also given interim custody of the children. The jury was out for about half an hour.
Mr. Duggan was granted leave by his Honor to withdraw his client's answer, and the case proceeded on the lines of an undefended suit.
His client hail authorised him to admit the material allegation of misconduct with the co-respondent, said Mr. Matthews, but did not admit other statements made.
Petitioner in evidence, said he and his wife were married on Reptember 5, 1928. There were two children. In December last his wife went to Taumarunui for :i holidny. He was not sure when she was returning, but he found she was back when he discovered a letter from ii lawyer demanding separation.
