THIRTEEN-A-SIDE
THE RUGBY LEAGUE.
CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES.
MARIBT TO MEET RICHMOHD.
Matches set down for decision at Carlaw Park to-morrow in the Auckland Rugby League's championship programme will probably have a definite bearing in helping to decide which is the beet club team of an eventful season. The principal match will be between Marist and Richmond. The former are the leading team in the competition, while Richmond (last year's champions) are in handy position, and are regarded as one of the beet club sides in Auckland. A very closely-contested match ie expected, and as the team play of both sides is good, the issue may lie with the forwards. Last Saturday Manukau drew with Richmond, and they will meet Mount Albert, the second team on the championship table. Thie match should also be a hard struggle between evenly-matched forward divisions and backs capable of playing a bright and open game should the condibright" and open game should the conditions be suitable.
North Shore have been drawn to mee. City, and on form to date the former should win, although City hare been giving improved displays of late. The match between Papakura and Xewton will be played at Ellerelie. On the eeaeon's form Xewton should be able to gain the match points from the suburban team. So ?ar Papakura have not measured up to the standard of eeveral of the other tea 11)15, but they play in an enterprising way, and try hard. Teams chosen:— MOUNT ALBERT. Senior.—McLaohlan, A.
