AUSTRALIAN POLLARD LOWER.
BRAN VERY SHORT.
Chief features in the grain and produce markets eince last report have been a reduction in the pr*ce of Australian pollard, a r W e in chaff and a lower rate for maize. OflFerings _ of Australian pollard have been freer m recent weeks, and the local price has been lowered to £9 .10/ per ton, e* store. An acute shortage of bran exists Merchants are able to get only limited eupphee from the local mill* and eome have arranged for regular importation 9 from Australia, which ate being rationed out at 9/8 -per hundred, compared with 679 charged for the local article. Potatoes are in keen demand, with no change' in prices. In horse feed oats are unaltered, but i the price of chaff has been raised to £11 per ton. J Onions are still dear. The initial Australian shipment has been practically , cleaned tip and only small quantities of . these and of South Island arc now available.
