OLD HOMESTEAD.

WORK OF DEMOLITION. One of the oldest houses in the Mount Eden district, the Potter homestead, near the junction of Balmoral and Dominion Roads, is now being demolished. The building is on a section adjoining Potter's Park, which was given to the Mount Eden Borough Council 22 years ago by Mr. F. S. Potter. The section was included in the original gift, but there was a stipulation that the house should be retained for Mr. Potter, or certain members of his family, should they desire to use it. Recently the stipulation was removed .and the section is now to be included in the park and laid out with lawns and paths.
