MR. J. S. BARTON IX AUSTRALIA.
"The visit was a great success, and had a satisfactory conclusion," eeid Mr. J. S. Barton, formerly a stipendiary magistrate, who returned to New Zealand to-day by the Awatea after having undertaken a Government mission to the Commonwealth. | Mr. Barton, who was formerly one of the Napier Commissioners appointed after the earthquake, went to Australia as chairman of the Bondholders' Incorporation Commission.
La view of statements already made concerning the activities of the commission by the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth, the Rt. Hon. J A Lyons, and the Prime Minister of the Dominion, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage Mr Barton said he had nothing more to •M, beyond a general expression of satisfaction. He will make a report to the Government on hie return to Wel-i nngton. .
