FORTY KILLED IN RACIAL CLASHES.
THREE-DAY RIOTING. Grave Disturbances Persist In Rangoon. MOHAMMEDAN SHOPS LOOTED. United Press Association.—Copyright. ■ (Received 2 p.m.) RANGOON". July 28. Forty people have been killed and 250 injured in riots in the last three days. Other dead and injured may lie under the wreckage of houses. The disturbances broke out through the issuing of a book which was offensive to Buddhists. The series of incident*: following the communal rioting on Tuesday have led to panic throughout the city. The Mayor's car was stoned, and fires have broken out and there have been several shooting affrays. Business has come to a standstill.
Rioting still continues. Five people were killed and many injured in Mohammedan shop*, which were looted. The fiercest faction lighting is proceeding in an Indian timber yard, set on fire bv a group dressed as Buddhist priests.
