SYMPATHY WITH STARTER.
Members of the Takap'una Jockey Club yesterday afternoon decided to express sympathy with Mr. G. L. Stead, starter for the club for some seasons past, who met with serious injuries in a motor accident on Saturday^while proceeding to the Matamata races, and to wish him a very speedy recovery. It was also decided to ascertain, ' through the committee, whether financial assistance would be acceptable.
