CO-OPERATION.
EMPLOYERS' AIM.
APPROACH TO UNIONS. MANUFACTURERS' DESIRE. « With the object of securing general co-operation and assistance between the trades unions and local manufacturers, two conferences have recently been held between representatives of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association and members representing the Federation of Labour. t
This was reported.at to-day's meeting of the association by the president, Mr. X. W. Shove, who _said that two meetings had already been neld, but he did not consider that they were large" enough. The federation members had not been as unanimous as was hoped, but the results had not been bad. It was generally hoped that the Government would assist by general publicity .and co-operation.
On the motion of Mr. S. Takle, it was decided to ask permission to send a representative delegation to the Federation of Labour to go into the question once more. Mr. Takle said it vfas in the national interests to do so.
