Reports, partly confirmed . from Madrid, say. a Saragossa message, indicate that General Franco's bV push successfully continues. ° Rebels, under Oeneral Varela, headed by a mechanised Italian division report the capture or Uarracas, Albentosa, Sanaugustin, Pina and Alcolas, breaking through from five to nine miles on a 22-mile front.
General Varela. It also exposes Sagunte, which will be fiercely defended, to the most powerful war machine yet mobilised in Spain, a coastal column, which is now 12 miles from Sagunto. General franco's "Cabinet" decided to confer decorations on Marshal Goering and Count jChuio, says a Burgos message in commemoration of the second anniversary of the civil war. "The Times" Burgos representative says rebel Spain is beflagged in celebration of the first of three national holidays in order to commemorate the anniversary of the outbreak of the civil war. The Loyalist Foreign Minister, Senor Del Vayo, declared at Barcelona that the Loyalists are entering the third year with more than confidence in victory and with a decision to struggle to the last man for the last piece of Spanish soil. Reports from Algiers and Gibraltar state that thousands of Arabs are crossing from Spanish Morocco to Algeciras and Malaga. They are possibly intended to replace Italian volunteers if the latter are withdrawn from Spain. • SUPPORT LOYALISTS. BRITISH LABOUR STAND. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, July 17. The National Council of Labour, on the second anniversary of the civil war in Spain, calls on all kindred movements to join the Labour party in declaring solidarity with the Government of Spain. CONGRATULATIONS. HERR HITLER TO GEN. FRANCO. BERLIN, July 17. Herr Hitler has telegraphed to I General Franco congratulating him j upon the second anniversary of the "rising of National Spain." SAGUNTO ON MONDAY? REBEL HOPES FOR CAPTURE. SALAMANCA, July 171 The rebels hope to take Sagunto on July 18, the second anniversary of the outbreak of hostilities.
