TO-DAY IN CHRISTCHURCH. BUSINESS UNUSUALLY DULL SELLERS RAISE LIMITS.' (By TelegrapTi.—Special to " Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The markets were unusually dull on the Christchurch Stock Exchange this morning, and only two classes of shares had sales, many quotations revealing little desire for business by wide margins between buyers and sellers. Tn the banking , eeetion New Zealands rela.psed 3d tj 13/6, at which price more were offered. Commercials eased a fraction to a'market between 16/2 and 16/4, the preferences being quoted from £9 7/ to £9 12/6. Though in miscellaneous industrials and in mining buyers were generally close to last week's sale prices, eellers retired to wide limits, and thus discouraged dealings. G. J. Coles were the only case in which a market could be made, the sale price recovering to 80,0 and SO/10, with buyers and seller* at the final marks. Sellers of Australian Class held to 9.5,9. though buyers were easier at 02 '. Broken Hill Proprietary had a steady market from 59/4 to .39 '8. • In the Zinc issues there was an inquiry at 42 for the ordinaries and 46'6 for the preferences, while sellers asked 42/0 and 47/. respectively.

Tlio improvement in Orey Rivers was maintained, buyers at 13/1 bringing in sellers no lower than 14A Mount Lyells recovered to buying offers at 28'. but sellers were Id above. Morgana were wanted at 10/8. Broken Hill Souths at 32/, and North Broken Hills at 47/4.
