BRIDGE PARTY.
DISCHARGE OF PRISONERS.
i In aid of the Discharged Prisoners' Association a successful bridge evening was held at the Lome of Mrs. White, of Grafton. Among those preeent were: Mrs. H, E. Burton (president), Meadamee G. Simpson, White, Kevan. Keyvar, Taylor, Stewart, Neumegan, Ruesell, Kewish, Dixon, Dow, Woollams, G. Simpson, T. Keyvar, T. Dunn, Misses T. Simpson and Taylor. BOYS , BAND. A social and dance was held at Onehunga, proceeds to go to the Onehunga Boye , BaWd. During the evening Mr. Garten presented Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. Boakeg with crystalware in appreciation of their good'work. Items by Miss Val Jackson. .the Jackson brothers and.the Junior Boys' Band were much applauded. Mr*. Wells played an extra. ■....■• BIRTHDAY PARTY. In double celebration of the engagement and birthday of Miss Tiri Gow, a party was held at the residence of her mother, Mrs. L. Gow, in Coyle Street, Mount Albert. Mrs. Gow received guests in a 'gown of amethyst cloque. Suitable toasts an elegantly-decorated supper table and dancing combined to make an enjoyable evening. Ladies present were Mesdames Burke, H. Pollock, F. Rice, H. McKenzie, G. Wolfe, F. Fox and <J. Bftifcy: Misses N. and A.- Gow, R. and B. Burke and T. Molesworth.
GARRICK PLAYERS. ■ the Garriek Play-readers presented the drama "Libel" (by Wooll) at their la~st meeting at Warwick Chambers. The performance was thoroughly appreciated by both players and yisrtors. - Those taking part were: Misses Kaie Robinson, Joan Byres. Mijrnonne Lock, Ester Eolton. Pat Boyle, Eleanor Grey. Allison Blevrden. Messrs. H. Kissin, H. Byres, T. Watkine, J. Cruickshlanks. LANCASHIRE SOCIETY. fortnijyMly social was held in the Arts Hall. The presHeitir Mr. Smith, i>re!*ided.
