HELP MINISTERS.
Parliamentary Secretaries Appointed. AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT. (Received 12 noon.) CANBERRA, this day. Mr. J. A. Lyons, the Prime Minister, announced that Parliamentary Secretaries would be appointed- to assist in the administration of the Treasury and the Department of Defence. Mr. J. N. Lawson is to be appointed to the Treasury, and Mr. G. A. Street to the Department of Defence. They will relieve the Ministers of much routint work, and also help in the drafting and handling of bills. It was reported on Wednesday that extensive changes in the Federal Cabinet, with a reallotment of portfolios, were likely before the end of the year, after the return of Sir Earle Page, Minister of Commerce, Mr. R. G. Menzies, AttorneyGeneral, and Mr. T. W. White, Minister of Trade and Customs, from England. This was based qn the existing uneven distribution of duties and the growth of burdens on the Treasurer, Mr. R. G. Caeey, the Minister of Defence, Mr. H.' V. Thorby, and Mr. White.
