SWIMMING TOURNEY FOR AUCKLAND.
PAN-PACIFIC 1940.
The Pan-Pacific swimming championship meeting in 1940 was allotted to the Auckland Centre by the council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association at its meeting last week. When consideration was given to the question. •'. Jj motion, that it be referred to the next conference of centres, and another, that discussion be held over to the council's next meeting, were both lost. The decision that Auckland be granted the championships was made on the motion of the Auckland Centre's delegate, Mr. H. Goldsmith. Its honorary secretary. Mr. J. R. Miller, was appointed organising secretary for the meeting. It was agreed that the national championship meeting in 1940 should be allotted to the~ Wellington Centre.
