AIR FORCE OFFICERS.
SERVICE IN DOMINION.
ANNOUNCEMENT BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph.—Parlinmentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, has announced the promotion of three officers in the New Zealand Air Force, as follows: — Wing-Commander L. M. Islitt, to be group-captain Squadron-Leader A. de T. Nevill, to be wing-commander. Flight-Lieutenant T. J. Denton, to be squadi on-leader. It was also announced that advice had been received from the Air Ministry in London of the promotion of FlightLieutenant L. Crocker to the rank of squadron-leader. Group-Captain Isitt, who is 46 years of age, was appointed to the New" Zealand Staff Corps for air duties in November, 1919, after active service, and was transferred to the Royal New Zealand Air Force on its formation in 1923. For some time he was officer commanding the Hobsonville Air Base, but since April, 1.937, he has been at Air Force Headquarters.
After holding various staff appointments. Wing-Commander Nevill was transferred to the Royal New Zealand Air Force in March, 1930. He attended the Royal Air Force Staff College in 1935, and, since his return to the Dominion he has been attached to Air Force Headquarters. He is aged 39.
Squadron-Leader Denton is aged 40. After his war service he was posted to the New Zealand Staff Corps in 1920, and transferred to the Air Force in 1923. He is senior stores officer, and left for England last Aprti for duty with the Royal Air Force.
Squadron-Leader Crocker, who is a specialist engineer officer on loan for technical duties from the Royal Air Force, arrived in New Zealand in July last year. He is 30 years of age, anil has completed 11 years' service with the Roval Air Force.
