FANCY DRESS BALL.
ATTRACTIVE FROCKING.
COUNTIES' ASSOCIATION.
The Birmingham and Midland Counties' Association held its third annual fancy dress ball last right. The president, Mr. Horace V. Hampton, presided over a very larjf* attendance which taxed the ■apacity of the Fabian Rooms, where the 'sail was held.
The various dresses and costumes were 'Kith very beautiful and ingenious, and i>flected great credit on the members. Hie judges had a very difficult task in iwarding the prizes, which were donated by various members of the society. The
dancing was interspersed with musical items and an excellent, supper was. served after the grand parade.
Prizes were awarded as follows:—
First prize lor member?, open: Mrs. Hnuhes, (Robin Hood). Ladies' prize: Miss Tyler (Spanish dancer) 1. ili«s Urvant (Queen of Heart?) 2. Gentlemen's prize: Mr. IF. -V. Hampton ("'Departed Spirits") 1, Mr. J. Campbell (Paul Munii 2. Popular vote prize: Mr. Lewis (bootblack). Special prize for the best pair: Mr*. Graham (Bonnie Prince Charlie i and Anstis (Xaughty Marietta i. Prizes for pirls and boys, under 1*• years: Master Colinliaw (golliwog) 1, Mis? Hampton, (milk bar) 2.
Sonirs were given by Mrs. Osborne sn<l tap dancing: by Miss V. a;id Ma-ter ('. Hall. Mr.-?. Dunn acted as dance pianist. Supper was served by the committee, tiie hostesses being Me~dames Brook = . Pearsail. Graham and Morton. Mr. F. Anstis was master of ceremonies.
