WORKMAN'S FATE.
DEATH FROM INJURIES.
PASSENGER ON MOTOR LORRY.
Head injuries from which he died were suffered by Mr. Con Way Sinclaire, aged 03, who lived with his granddaughter at 34, Old Windsor Road, Avondale, when the lorry on which he was riding skidded and hit an electric power pole on the Hobsonville Road, about two miles from the Hobsonville School, yesterday afternoon. ,Mr. Sinclaire was one of a party of workmen, employees of the Public Works Department, who were being taken home from the Hobsonville Air Bate in the motor truck, driven by Mr. Robert John Hibbert, of 21, Warnock Street, Grey Lynn. The men had been engaged on outoide work at the aerodrome and had had to stop on account of the rain.
They were accommodated in the back of the truck, and when it hit the pole Mr. Si."-laire lurched and struck his head. Dr. Rhoda Robb, of Henderson, was called to attend the injured man, but he died a short time after her arrival. The other occupants were not hurt.
An inquest was opened this morning before Mr. F. K. Hunt, coroner, and adjourned.
