ATHENIAN CLUB.
A VIENNESE NIGHT. AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. The Athenian Club's entertainment on Saturday evening was enjoyable fare arranged as “A \ iennese Night, the hostess being Miss L. Kirkby. The opening scene depicted a beer garden, patrons of which were pieturesquelx dressed in Hungarian national costume. A Viennese czardas was danced by Mise I). McGowan and Mr. J. Smith. Ihe part of the singing waiter was capably portrayed by Mr. Charles Anderson, and a \ iennese waltz, was jierformed. 'I hose taking part were Misses S. Knight, Marshall Inman, J. Behague. Messrs. Clem Searle. B. Jones and G. Searle. The scene concluded with enjoyable numbers by Miss Beryl Smith. Messrs. Vincent Aspey and J. Stokes. The accompanists were Miss Eha ( air and Mr. Aspey. During an interlude of dancing Continental favours were liberally distributed to the guests, and confetti containers were an added favour supplied to the ladies.
