RADIO EQUIPMENT.
SCHEME FOR AERODROME

A director finding ra<lio station will shortly be built at the Xew Plymouth aerodrome, thus making another link in the Dominion chain. Tenders are to be called for the construction of the station and negotiations for the purchase of the land have been practically completed Air communications and weather reports at New Plymouth are at present handled by « transmitting and receiving station near the airport, and in one building. Direction finding aerials and sets will be installed in the new building on a section near the flying field, and the transmitter, some distance away, will be worked by remote control. Although the building v ill not commence for probably more than a month, the preparation of the site will begin almost immediately. For the modern type of direction finding apparatus, the ground under the aerials has to be completely levelled, fuid this work is expected to take fomc time.
