RUGBY VISITORS.
Suggestions for 1939 from
California.

WELLINGTON, Friday,
Communications were received by the Council of the New Zealand Riigby Union to-night from the California University and the California Rugby Football Board regarding tome. The former stated that it wae prepared to tour New Zealand in July and August of 1939 if this wae acceptable to the New Zealand Union.
The chairman said he understood that an application would come before the union for a tour of New Zealand in 1940 by a combined Oxford-Cambridge Universities team.
Mr. Ongley eaid he had been advieel that the tour would occupy seven or eight weeks. It was proposed to play 13 or 14 matches, including tests with the universities and othere with various centres. The matter was left in the hande of Mr. Dean to communicate with the New Zealand University Council and to report.
