CUP WINNER'S SIRE.

TRAVIS AXWORTHY FOR AUSTRALIA.

BRILLIANT TEMPEST ALSO. Included among trotting horses sold to p<l to Australia is Travis Axworthy, *ire of Red Shadow, winner of the Xew Zealand Trotting Cup in 1933. Travis Axworthy, who is by Dillon Axworthy, '.J.lOVi, from Lady Peter, l>y Peter the Great, 2.7 1 /*, was bred in Canton, Ohio, United States, in 1923. and was imported to Xew Zealand in 1'.f24 by Mr. E. X. le Lievrc. Hi is to do stud duty in South Australia.

Two other hornea iu Cloudy Range and Tempest have been acquired by Mr. A. G. Hallan to race iu West Australia.. Both horses reached top claes in this country and with the advantage in the handicaps which they •will receive under the West Australia schedule, they should prove big stake-earners for their new owners.

Tempest is a brilliant beginner, and should be one of the best pacers on a small track which has left Xcw Zealand. Both horses were bred at Duubar Lodge, and are by Wrack.

During the niue years Tempest raced iu the Dominion he contested 113 events for 18 tirstn. 1!) seconds and 15 thirds. His total etake-earninjts were £6156. He was purchased from his breeder when three years old by Mr. G. J. Barton, in whose colours he hae raced since.

Cloudy Range competed in 88 races in thie country for 15 wins, 14 seconds and 12 thirds. Like Tempest, hi: has won over all distances, but neither hoist! has ever paced well in soft ground, and the tirm tracks in the Commonwealth should suit them. Cloudy Range did hin early racing in the interests of his breeder, and when four years old he was purchased by E. ('. MeDerniott, who eventually disposed of him to Mr. Barton, who enjoyed considerable success with the gelding.

Cloudy Range competed in the Grand Final of the inter-Dominion championship, but did not get a p'^tce.

During his eix yeare' racing he has won £4087 in stakes.
