WIMBLEDON ENTRIES.
Four New Zealanders to Play In British Tennis. NO MENTION OF A. D. BROWN. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LOXDOX, June 8. The 128 entries for the men's singles at Wimbledon include the Xew Zealanders, E. D. Andrews, D. C. Coombe, and C. E. Malfroy. Miss Macfarlane has entered for the women's singles. At Paris, in the quarter-finals Budge (United States) defeated Destremeau (France), 6—4, 6 —3, G—i; Pallada (Yugoslavia) defeated Boussus (France), 6—l, 3—6, 4—6, 6—l, 6—2. The 128 "entries" is an arbitrary arrangement by the committee of the AllEagland Club,, as in view of the privileges attaching to entry that number alone could conceivably come from Britain alone. The restriction not only confines the field to players with 6ome semblance of tennis ability, but eliminates byes. A. D. Brown i sailed with D. C. Coombe to compete, and ! it seems inconceivable that he could be 1 excluded from the draw, seeing he is Dominion champion.
