FRENCH STABILITY.
Foreseen as Result of M. Blum's Triumph. SUPPORT FOR GOVERNMENT. PARIS, June 8. A period of political stability is foreseen as the result of M. Blum's overnight triumph at the Socialist party Congress. His resolution, pledging the party's continued support of the Daladier i Government, in which it is not represented, and advocating non-intervention and acceptance of all sacrifices necessary j to prevent war, was carried by an enor- j mous majority, in spite of two extremist I resolutions. Largely as the result of the overnight voting, the extremist Left Wing intends to form a new party division, which in some respects will be comparable with the British Independent Labour party. CRICKET TEST. GOOD CONDITIONS LIKELY. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, June 8. The weather is fine arid warm and the, outlook for the first Australian cricket Test of the 1938 series is bright.
