THEFT OF JEWELLERY.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day.

Jewellery valued at about £30 was stolen by burglars who broke into the home of Mr. G. E. A. Wilkes, of Tainui Street, last evening. This is the fourth burglary in the town within a few weeks.

Mr. Wilkes, who is local manager of the A.M.P. Society, was working in his front room and was not disturbed by the intruder. The jewellery, wliiqh comprised a diamond ring, a string of pearls and a small signet ring, was the property of Mrs. C. Brown, Mr. Wilkes' daughter. Entry into the rear bedroom was gained by a ladder. Footprints were found on the windowsill. " <
