MODERN TOWN HALL.
MOVE AT HAMILTON.
CENTENNIAL PROPOSAL, i (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Hamilton may have a fine and modern| town hall erected to mark the centennial year if proposals discussed at a meeting of the general purposes committee of-the Borough Council last night come to fruition. The Mayor, Mr. H. D. Caro, advocated the erection of a smaller hall to meet immediate needs Garden Place, suitable to accommodate from 800 to 1000 people, with a supper room and other offices. Such a scheme would cost between £14,000 and £10,000. Another suggestion was for a larger building costing £100.000 in Boyes Park, the natural centre of the borough, which, however, was considered an being 20 years ahead or the time by some councillors.
A special committee was appointed to :onsider the matter.
