TE RAPA TRIALS.

MASTER BRIERLY'S ROUND.

INNESS LAD SCHOOLS WELL.

(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.")

HAMILTON; thie day

A thick fog which totally obscured the pega ; considerably 'hampered training operation* at Te Kapa thin morning, and only in caees where horeea were worked over a circnit could they be timed. The going;, on -the comwe proper, about 25ft put;, woe holding, and the programme wan a restricted one. Feat met* <>t the morning w«re a round by Master Brierly and a schooling • essay over tire ilighte • of hurdle* by Innetttt Lad. ■ Master Brierly (.F. Winder), Kght Comedy (Long) and Malagigi (C. L. Uoulebro) finieiied at two-lengtii intervals at the completion of a round in 2.6%. Master Brierly .finished full of running, and look* in great heart for hie Cornwall Handicap engagement. He handled the conditions well thk morning, and appears to be as good ae. ever. Tradesman (Keilly), who, as on Tuesday, showed a disinclination ,to jump off, went once round in 2.6 4-5. It was a smart effort on the part of Tradesman, who relished the conditions. Tradesman is an acceptor for the open sprint at Ellerslie on Monday, and if the trip ie undertaken it ie the intention of the starter to place the horee on the outside of the field no matter what post position he draws. Cappy (Reilly) ran once round hi 2.14%. Whirling (C. L. Goulebro) aiid Prince Acre (J. Winder) came home strongly at the completion of a solid trial, but could not be timed. Both were at home in the going, and should strip in splendid order for Kllerelie. Mio Fratollo (J. Day) and Solomon (Ensor) were easing up at the rompletion of a round in 2.15. Inriees Lad (R. Cotter) was schooled over five flights of hurdles. The fog was still thick at the time, and he could he seen only nt the initial jump, and when he came round again he jumped the obstacle in front of the stands in perfect style, and is not without prospects in the Penrose Hurdles at 'Ellerelie on Monday. ;: : . ....
