Smith, W. J. Edrich and D. Compton (Middlesex). The Rest: Q. O. B. Allen, captain (Middlesex), D. R. Wilcox (Essex), N. W. D. Yardley (Cambridge University), E. Payuter (Lancashire), W. Farrimond (wicket-keeper, Lancashire), R. Pollard (Lancashire), L. B. Fishlock (Surrey), James Langridge (Sussex), H. £. Dollery (Warwickshire), O. H. Pope (Derbyshire), D. V. P. Wright (Kent). The 'most noteworthy omissions are those of R. W. V. Robins (Middlesex)/ who captained England against New Zealand in all three 1037 Tests, and W. Voce, the Notts left-arm express, wKo was easily England's beet bowler in the 1036-37 Teat' Hones in ,Australia. Brown's inclusion in the England. XI. may cause some pi'isre, but heffirjan all-rounder, (daehfng batsman and fielder, and googly bowler) who helped materially to beat New Zealand in the only one of the three matches finished last year.
