STILL PREVALENT.

MEASLES EPIDEMIC.

FURTHER DEATH REPORTED,

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PUKEKOHE, this day.

The epidemic of measles which has been so prevalent during the past few months is still taking its toll and is still particularly prevalent amongst Maoris in the Pukekohe district. Yesterday the loth child died within three weeks. All the children have been eight years of age or under. Although a district nurse is stationed at Pukckolu by the health authorities, the Maoris still appear to be very reluctant to notify the nurse when sickness of any description occurs. Consequently patients are often in a serious state before they receive anv aid.
